This is a beautiful, ready-to-hang fine art lithograph print by the renowned Hawaiian culture photographer Randy Jay Braun. Titled Hula - Na ‘Olelo o ka Pu‘uwai (Hula, The Language of the Heart), this piece was originally captured and produced in 1993 in Braun's Kula, Maui darkroom. The photograph features champion dancer Haunani Pascua performing on a Hawaiian beach, dancing to a traditional chant that tells the legendary story of the fire goddess Pele and her sister, Hiʻiaka.The piece is housed in a very nice, high-gloss teal-green wooden frame with clean double matting under protective glass. The original artist's information sheet and story card is safely preserved and attached to the back of the frame, providing excellent historical context and verifying its authenticity. Braun is a highly celebrated fine art photographer who spent decades documenting the spirit of traditional Hawaiian culture. He is best known for his distinctive sepia-toned, hand-colored imagery that masterfully captures the essence of hula. His dedicated work preserving Hawaiian traditions earned him the prestigious 3-Kahili Award from the Hawaii Visitors Bureau for "Keeping it Hawai'i."
