What is used for is the make sure the water pressure going into your RV is set at a pressure that will not exceed the maximum pressure that the plumbing can handle. Most RV plumbing systems can handle 80 psi for a short period of time. You do not know what water pressure is coming out of the park’s water supply. That is why you need a water pressure regulator.
