This is a Clarice Cliff 'Crocus' pattern lidded sugar bowl and matching oval dish. The design is characteristic of the Art Deco style popular in the 1930s. The hand-painted 'Crocus' pattern features stylized flowers in orange, blue, and purple colors on an amber or peach mottled background. The pieces are part of the 'Bizarre' ware range produced by the English potter Clarice Cliff. This pattern was first introduced around 1935 and is a highly collectible design
