Vintage Leopold Partners Desk — Burlington, Iowa True double-sided partners desk by the Leopold Desk Company of Burlington, Iowa. Two people sit facing each other, with storage on both sides. Built for banks, law offices, and libraries — commercial-grade American office furniture, not parlor stuff. Leopold started in 1886 as Northwestern Furniture Company, became Rand-Leopold, then Leopold Desk Company in 1900. In 1937 the name changed to Leopold Company. Same Burlington family as conservationist Aldo Leopold. They were known for heavy, overbuilt desks with dovetailed drawers.
