This is a very clean white PJ version Precision Bass. The “P” is the split coil neck pickup that’s on all Precision Basses and the “J” is the single coil bridge pickup found on Jazz Basses. When it comes to Fender basses, PJs are the best of both worlds, and seriously, if you can have both, why wouldn’t you have both? The instrument is in almost like new condition. The only cosmetic flaw appears to be a chip that was repaired on the lower horn. Refer to the pictures to see this repaired chip. This instrument has been fully set up with new strings. Everything listed in the guitar services below has been done to this instrument. That is certainly not the case in the majority of instruments sold on here, and it’s a process that costs about $75 plus the strings. This instrument is ready to play, many are not. A tuner is a must have so I buy them in bulk and throw one in with each of the guitars and basses that I refurbish. I also include a wall hanger because why not. GUITAR SERVICES I started flipping gear primarily as a way to get a lot of experience setting up and refurbishing instruments. I began to get inquiries to set up and refurbish guitars and basses and have been performing these services privately for a few months. As I’m a guitar technician and not a luthier, and I’m looking to rapidly gain experience, my rates are significantly lower than a genuine luthier and a whole lot lower and faster than Guitar Center. I charge $25 to set up an Acoustic guitar or bass and $40 for an Electric guitar or bass. That includes restringing with strings that you provide, cleaning and polishing including the fretboard and body, fine tuning the truss rod for perfect neck relief, adjusting the string action height to as close to Medium as possible, adjusting the intonation on the bridge so that fretted notes are in pitch like the open strings, and stretching and retuning the strings until they maintain pitch. I can work with all common bridges and tuners including Floyd Rose. The restringing is optional and included in the set up fee. I will also do some light touch up on paint chips for no extra cost. In some cases this can really transform an old instrument. If you have scratchy pots (the Volume and Tone knobs) or selector switches that means the electronics need to be cleaned. That involves removing the control panel and/or pick guard and spraying DeOxit into the holes in the pots and selector switch while they’re being rotated. While I’m in there, I like to verify the grounding wire path, because that is so frequently not in continuity on sub $500 instruments and is the frequent cause of hum. The same goes for the gain and EQ knobs and selector on amps. If you want this done during the set up process, it’s an extra $15, if you want it done without the rest of the set up, or to an amp, it’s $25. I’m willing to make house calls for $40 to cover my round trip time and costs. I frequent South County and will travel as far as Bullhead City, Goodsprings, Pahrump, and Mesquite for $80.
