Up for sale is a beautiful and authentic vintage Thai Buddhist amulet in the revered "Phra Somdej" style. Phra Somdej amulets are believed to be a source of great blessings, luck, and protection. This amulet, made from 2.5” traditional sacred powders, features the classic image of the Buddha seated in meditation on a tiered throne. It is housed in a stunning, heavy-duty protective case made of ornate metal with a dark, antiqued finish. The highlight of the case is the vibrant and intricate multi-colored enamel work (longya) that frames the amulet. This is a particularly fine example, combining the spiritual significance of the Phra Somdej with the high artistry of a custom enameled case. A truly special piece for any collector or for personal devotion. Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The ornate enameled case is in beautiful shape with no significant loss to the enamel and a wonderful patina on the metal. The hinge is strong and the case closes securely.
