McIntosh XR 7 Speakers

Up for grabs, a nice pair of XR 7’s, these speakers are my current dining room set up. They’re as you’d expect Mac speakers to be, large and heavy. Performance is average, I have better equipment which I prefer. However, they aren’t any low grade performers. The main caveat is running them with McIntosh receivers or amps for best results. I’ve noticed if I run them through any of my other audio equipment, they sound muddled and boomy. This is most likely due to needing the McIntosh equalizer. While running them through the MX112 preamp sounds significantly better. In any case, these speakers aren’t for the average collector. Sort of similar to buying a high end car and maintaining it properly. Aesthetically they’re 9/10. Cabinet structure is still solid, no crazy dents anywhere. Grills are in excellent shape. Drivers are 10/10 they all perform perfectly. Just need a bit of dusting off on the cones. The price is negotiable but not by much. Trades are always welcome, just let me know what you have to offer. I’m mainly looking for vintage equipment. Bose, Sansui, pioneer, Kenwood, Akai or JBL’s. Equipment from the 70’s and below are preferred.
