Description
If this ad is up, it’s still available. CASH ONLY. “Keeping’ it real” answers to questions that I get all too often are found below. ==== This Ryobi mower is worth fixing and keeping out of the landfill. It needs someone with an understanding of electrical concepts and time to give it some love. A 90+ year old (who has since passed away) “fixed” it when the start button broke. I did some work for his widow and she paid me (in part) with this mower. The lights come on, but I can’t get it to start. This ad is for the tool only, meaning that there is no battery or charger. I have a battery just to show that the lights come on. I already have a few mowers and don’t need more. These are great mowers and this is my absolute favorite model. If I didn’t already have one, I would do my best to fix it and keep it. =============== ANSWERS to FAQs: ================ Q: Is it still available? A: As I state in my first line, if the ad is up, the item is still available. Q: Does it come with a battery and charger? A: No. This listing is what Home Depot sells as a “tool only” configuration. Meaning that there is no battery and no charger. Q: Why isn’t there a battery or charger? A: Because I didn’t get one when I acquired it. You can find very reasonably priced Ryobi-compatible batteries and chargers on Amazon. Here’s a tip, though… Do NOT ever let a battery just sit in its charger. I can’t tell you how many batteries die that way. Q: Where are you located? A: There is a map on the listing, which shows that it’s located in North Seattle, near the zoo and Green Lake. Q: Can I have my [house cleaner, daughter, son, brother, friend, etc.] pick it up? A: Sure. I don’t care, but they will need to pay in cash. Q: They won’t have cash, but I could Zelle or Venmo you. Would that work? A: Nope. Cash only. Q: Can you create a Zelle or Venmo account so that I can pay you? A: Nope. Cash only. Q: But they are coming from far away, I will be at work and can’t pick it up myself. How about then? A: …and yet, you choose to look for stuff to buy in Seattle. It’s up to you as to how far you are willing to drive. In case you’re picking up on a theme, scammers are trying to basically fake a payment with Zelle or Venmo and show sellers what is essentially a fake “pending” transaction. The seller then trusts the buyer, lets the buyer’s friend/relative/house cleaner leave with said item and the payment never goes through. Seller is out of what they wanted to sell and never saw the hypothetical buyer. So, will I take Venmo? What do you think? If I do end up taking something like Zelle or Venmo, it will cost you twice the asking amount. I will take pictures of you, your driver’s license, license plate, and whatever friend ends up joining you, and we’ll have to meet in front of the North Seattle Precinct of the Seattle Police Department during their business hours and I will wait until the full payment completes and I have the money before you leave with whatever you plan on buying. Or… you can just read the ad and pay in cash as I ever-so-clearly state.
