Description
This antique porcelain dish was made by the Morimura brothers in 1910. Since it is signed Nippon, the name for Japan prior to 1921, we can tell its age. This hand painted dish has pink roses, green and blue borders with gold gilding on handles. This delicate dish is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or crazing with some wear on the gilded handles which is normal for a 100 year old dish. It has been owned by only 2 families. Historically it was intended as a nut dish but now is used primarily for holding jewelry, keys on a dresser or vanity. This dish would make a wonderful birthday or mother’s day present for someone who appreciates Japanese porcelain and history.
