Description

Vintage Mexican Gaban-Style Deer Poncho Blanket Navy/ White 37x75 Double-Sided. Vintage deer motif gaban-style Mexican poncho. Features a navy and white winter woodland design with deer, snowflakes, geometric borders, and fringe trim. Garment is weighty and has a substantial heaviness to it. Appears to be made of wool or a wool-blend fabric. No fiber content tag was found. Poncho features a finished V-neck opening, reversible woven construction, and fringe along the lower edge. The design displays deer in a snowy landscape with decorative geometric borders. Can be worn as a traditional poncho, displayed as rustic or western décor or used as a warm, heavy blanket. Measurements (Approximate) * Width: 37.5” * Length: 75” (including fringe) Condition: Pre-owned and selling from an estate. Good vintage, pre-owned condition. There is a small hole which appears to be from wear (see pics) and there is some fringe wear. Garment also features some easily removable pilling. General wear consistent with age and use. Please see the attached images. ***There are no maker, size, fiber-content, country-of-origin, or care tags on this garment. This makes the exact age, origin, and material unknown. Light research from reputable sites show this garment as being made in Mexico and vintage from 1960's/1970's. It does, in fact, have the look of a traditional Southwestern or Mexican serape-style garment, however, it has not been authenticated as such.
