Description
So, here's the thing about the FlexiSpot Standing Desk Bike: it fixed a problem I didn't know I had until the pandemic handed it to me gift-wrapped, which is that I apparently needed a machine to make me feel less bad about how I spend my time on the internet. The Before: sitting on a couch, watching YouTube videos about topics I will never be tested on. The After: sitting on a bike, watching the exact same YouTube videos, except now my legs are doing something. That's it. That's the upgrade. But it turns out "my legs are doing something" is doing a LOT of heavy lifting, emotionally speaking. Here's what really sold me, though: Zoom calls. You know how everyone else on a video call looks like a hostage during a very boring hostage situation? Slack posture, dead eyes, existing in the vague shape of a human being who has given up? Not you. You're pedaling. You look *engaged*. You look like someone who has their life together, possibly training for something, possibly a triathlon, possibly a heist. Nobody needs to know you're actually just trying to make yourself make sense of things but sitting still isn’t helping. Peddle. Peddle faster. And speaking of heists, this is genuinely a great bike for elaborate internal narratives. You can be fleeing on bicycle from the authorities after a jewel heist that, in your head, was extremely well-planned and executed with precision, all while your Great Aunt tells you, via FaceTime, about her neighbor's gutter “situation”. The bike does not care what story you're telling yourself. The bike just wants you to keep the RPMs up. It's a very nonjudgmental machine, is what I'm saying. Also you could write a novel on it, sure, theoretically, if novels got written by people who own desk bikes, which, look, I don't have data on that, but I have suspicions. What you *will* get, guaranteed, is legs that look like they belong to someone with much better life choices than you. Anyway, here's the actual specs, because eventually I have to be a responsible adult about this listing: - Color: White - Capacity:** 300 lbs - Desktop size:** 20" x 20" - Bike size:** 37.6" x 23.2" x 34.8"–47.2" - Seat height range:** 29.6" – 37.1" - Ideal fit:** 5'1" – 6'2" (basically most humans, minus professional basketball players and hobbits) - Magnetic tension resistance:** 8 intense levels - **Package weight:** 80.7 lbs (bring help, or at least a very motivated dolly) Get it while it's here, get it while it’s hot. Your couch will understand. Eventually.
