Vintage 72” Rosewood Console – Chinese Modern Ming Sideboard Buffet

Beautiful vintage 72” Chinese Modern / Ming-inspired rosewood credenza featuring rich wood grain, sculptural hand-carved pulls, and exceptional attention to detail throughout. Likely mid-to-late 20th century, this substantial piece blends traditional Chinese craftsmanship with clean, understated Mid-Century and Danish Modern influences. Its streamlined design makes it equally suited for use as a dining room buffet, sideboard, living room credenza, or statement media console. NOTABLE FEATURES & CRAFTSMANSHIP ● Sculptural Integrated Door Pulls: Beautifully carved, flowing vertical finger pulls incorporated directly into the wood doors rather than attached hardware. A distinctive feature that gives the cabinet its elegant, streamlined appearance. ● Detailed Wood Joinery: Mitered door frames with contrasting dark hardwood spline detailing and carefully fitted panels. ● Four Upper Drawers: Smooth-gliding drawers on metal tracks with carved scalloped finger pulls and removable green felt cutlery organizers with magnetic attachments. ● Four Lower Cabinet Doors: Framed wood doors with concealed multi-link hinges that allow them to open nearly flat against the cabinet sides. ● Adjustable Interior Shelving: Substantial wood shelves supported by heavy-duty brass threaded supports. ● Beautifully Finished Throughout: Finished interior cabinetry, shelving, paneled back, and substantial underside construction. The attention to detail extends even to areas normally hidden from view. Exceptionally solid, sturdy, and HEAVY, with beautiful wood grain and a warm, rich finish. Design and construction are reminiscent of higher-end Chinese/Hong Kong export furniture, including pieces associated with George Zee & Co. and J.L. George. No manufacturer’s markings found; maker and exact origin are unconfirmed. CONDITION Very nice overall vintage condition, both structurally and cosmetically. Remarkably clean for its age, with no significant scratches, dents, or damage. Minor age-appropriate surface wear and natural patina, including visible sun-fading on one side panel from its previous placement.
