Split Fiction, from the creators of It Takes Two, is a co-op action-adventure game available for the PlayStation 5 that centers around two writers trapped in a digital simulation of their own stories. To escape, they must learn to work together and jump between different sci-fi and fantasy worlds. Gameplay and features Co-op is required: Like Hazelight Studios' previous titles, Split Fiction is designed exclusively for two players. It can be played either locally on a split screen or online with a friend. Friends Pass: Only one player needs to own the full game. The other player can download the free "Friends Pass" to join the game. Alternating genres: As the two writers, Mio (sci-fi) and Zoe (fantasy), explore the story, players will be transported between their vastly different imagined worlds. One minute you might be battling trolls and dragons, and the next, fighting cyber ninjas and dodging hover cars. Unique mechanics: Each level introduces new, unique gameplay mechanics, which can include platforming, stealth, puzzle-solving, and more. You and your partner will need to master these abilities together to progress. Dynamic and unpredictable: The game is filled with wild and surprising moments, such as dodging explosive barrels and taking part in a dance battle with a monkey. Enhanced for PS5: The PS5 version is enhanced and supports the DualSense controller's vibration function for a more immersive experience.
