Description
For sale is a genuine hand-signed baseball from Mets legend Ed Kranepool. Ed was just a 17-year-old kid from James Monroe High School in the Bronx when the Mets signed him in 1962. He stayed with the team his entire career (1(contact info removed)), became the last original 1962 Met, and won the 1969 World Series as part of the Miracle Mets. He lived right here on Long Island after retiring and spent years doing camps and community appearances for kids — which is how this ball was signed. This is signed on a Lawrence Woodmere Academy - LWA Summer Day ball (the camp ball they had on hand that day). No league logo, it's the custom LWA logo ball. Blue ballpoint signature on the sweet spot. Signature is a little faded but fully readable as Ed Kranepool — classic loopy Kranepool style. Great piece for a Mets fan, LWA alumni, or Five Towns collector. Not a Rawlings OML, so priced for a camp-signed ball. - Pickup in Woodmere / Lawrence area
