Description

Cloisonné is an ancient art form where enamel or insets are used to fill in sections of a piece of art that is typically drawn with fine wire. This technique creates unique pieces that last the test of time with vibrant colors and beautiful designs. Measurements: 2 3/4" x 1 3/4" This vintage Chinese Cloisonné stacking box will enchant you with it's brass base and multi-colored flowers. She'll be a stunning addition to your vanity. This cloisonné enamel trinket or spice container, features multi-colored floral and cloud motifs with brass wire and trim work. It is constructed using traditional metalworking and enamel-firing techniques. Piece features modular, interlocking tiers for small storage. Condition: there are NO visible chips, deep cracks, or missing enamel segments. The tiers stack flush without wobbling. Completeness: Stacking boxes are highly prone to losing individual middle segments or the matching lid. A complete 4-piece stack retains its full value compared to broken sets. If the box displays pitting in the enamel from age, has an unbranded bottom, and features a counter-enameled blue interior, its value climbs. This specific type of multi-tiered cylindrical tower is estimated to be between 70 to 130 years old, typically dating from the late Qing Dynasty (late 19th to early 20th century) up through the Republic Period (1912–1949).
