It's imperative when burning for the first time to allow the liquid wax to fully extend to the edges of the jar. Failing to do this will result in "tunneling" and significantly reduce the life and scent strength of your candle. The 8 oz can firstly be burn for 8 hours then 4 hours afterwards. Do not burn candle for more than 4 hours at a time after that first burns. Wick should always be trimmed to 1/4" before each burn. (This includes removing any carbon build-up on wick that may be left over from previous burn.)
