Description
This is an adorable 1/8 size violin (approx 16.5 inches), that would be great for students aged 5-6. You’d be hard pressed to find a finer violin of this size. It is made of a fine grain spruce top with maple back and sides. genuine purfling. The board, tuners (With mother of Pearl inlays), and tail piece are made of ebony. The tailpiece is connected to the end pin by a genuine cat gut tailgut.The tailpiece has “Supertone” fine tuners. There is some cosmetic wear marks (pictured in photos) from the bow not being secured within the case. As well as a small chip on the lower left corner of the back. The instrument was repaired and refinished in January of 1980 by Paul W Prichard of Crosby, Missouri (name inside tag and on coffin case- see photos). The violin is believed to be German in Origin. The bow is brazilwood and has an ebony frog, leather pad/grip, silver/ebony/mother of Pearl screw, and a mother of Pearl slide with a silver ferrule. Comes with the beautiful black coffin case with a red felt interior.
