Fender officially changed the Twin Reverb circuit in May 1968. Here is how the transition broke down: * Early 1968 (Jan-May): Fender introduced the new "Silverface" cosmetics (brushed aluminum panel, aluminum trim, and "drip edge" grille cloth), but these early amps retained the coveted, original AB763 "Blackface" circuit. * May 1968 and later: Fender transitioned these Silverface amps to the new AC568 circuit. This update increased the amp to 100 watts and featured changes to the output stage and bias circuits designed to make the amp cleaner and more stable.
