Sessions Westminster Silent Chime Mechanical Clock !

Description

The Sessions "Silent Chime" Westminster clocks use a very unique movement. It's considered one of the more complex mechanical movements for that time period. I have never attempted to disassemble one of them. I noticed with this movement, the previous owner had done bushing repair work, using what are called "Rathburn bushings" which are mounted on the exterior of the movement. Most horologists dislike this method of repair, but due to the difficulty of working on these movements, it's not surprising they went this route. The mainsprings can be removed without needing to disassemble the whole movement. So I removed them and cleaned them. I then took the entire movement and submerged it in clock cleaning solution in an ultrasonic cleaner. It was washed, dried, re-assembled, and oiled. It ran the full 8 days, kept good time, and the chimes work, chiming every quarter hour. So this is a working clock. But these movements are known to be fickle, and it could have issues in the future. If you have no experience with using mechanical clocks, or are just getting into clock repair/maintenance, I would kindly prefer that you refrain from purchasing this clock. I would prefer to see this go to someone who has some experience with these movements. The clock is 21 and a half inches wide, 10" tall, and 5 and a half inches deep. Please inspect all the HD pictures closely. You are buying the clock + key + pendulum seen in the pictures. It will be very carefully packaged and shipped promptly
