Antique Silver Mounted Purse, 1902 hallmark, embossed leather, art nouveau gift Exquisite Edwardian Purse - 4¾" long (12cm), 2" tall (5cm) This wonderful black leather purse is embossed with a mock croc pattern, and boasts a lovely silver mount of curving tendrils - very much in the art nouveau style. Fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1902, along with an import stamp and a maker's mark for the German silversmith Ludwig Krumm. The silver clasp is fully functioning, and opens to reveal a soft tan leather interior - four "accordion" sections along with a separate compartment for coins. A small additional pocket is at the front. Still in good, clean condition for its age - a few marks and some slight fraying at the edges, but shiny and sound overall. A beautiful piece of fashion history! Would make a lovely gift for the collector. Make me an offer!!
