I was interested in the 2019 Hyundai Kona Limited AWD because it had the clean Carfax, lower mileage, AWD, better trim, and no reported accident/damage history. I do like the car and still want the vehicle, but the process around getting it has been frustrating.

Before this, I had already completed an application elsewhere. After spending about six hours at the dealership, I was then told the application was wrong. My dad/co-signer then had to complete or attempt the application multiple times, and the process was confusing and repetitive. This raised concerns about whether repeated attempts/applications could affect credit.

During the process, the salesperson repeatedly asked whether my dad was going to complete the application and made it clear that if he did not, I would not be able to get the car. I understand a co-signer may be necessary, but the process should have been clearer from the beginning.

I was also asked whether I was in a romantic relationship with my dad/co-signer, which was inappropriate and uncomfortable. He is my parent/co-signer, and that should have been handled professionally.

Another major issue was insurance. Nobody clearly explained upfront that full coverage insurance would be required before I could leave with the vehicle. Because I had just relocated and spent my available money on the U-Haul, this became a major barrier late in the process. The insurance issue was also handled in a confusing way because nobody seemed clear on whether my dad only needed to show proof of insurance, add the vehicle, or add me as a driver. I received inconsistent answers about whether my name had to be listed on the insurance policy. One person said my name did not have to be on it, while another person said it did.

Nobody clearly explained what deductible amounts were required by the lender either, so I had to figure out whether $2,000, $1,000, or $500 comprehensive/collision deductibles would be accepted. I was also told that an actual physical insurance card was required, even though insurance binders, declarations pages, temporary ID cards, app proof, or email confirmations are commonly used to show active coverage once a policy is bound.

It was also unclear why I was asked to show my old insurance card in the first place. The reason was never explained, and the card I had available was not accepted. If the old card was only being used to verify prior insurance history, that should have been stated. If it was not going to satisfy delivery requirements, then I should have been clearly told what would satisfy them. Instead, I was repeatedly asked about insurance while being given vague and inconsistent answers.

The same salesperson repeatedly asked about the insurance issue, even after I had already left the dealership. At that point, the repeated questions and unclear answers made the process feel disorganized and uncomfortable.

At this point, this has turned into a two-day process, and I still do not have the car. I do like the 2019 Kona Limited AWD and want to move forward, but the process has been disorganized and unnecessarily stressful. I need the remaining steps handled clearly and efficiently, including written confirmation of exactly what is still required, whether the deal is fully approved, what insurance documentation is needed, whether my name must be on the insurance policy, what deductible requirements apply, and when I can take delivery of the vehicle.

I had a very disappointing experience with the service department at West Hills Honda. On Monday morning, I dropped off my car because my check engine light was turning on. I specifically went in for a diagnostic to find the problem. Instead, they recommended other services, including adding brake fluid and replacing a missing headlight, which cost me almost $400. They told me that after these repairs the check engine light should turn off.

That same night, after driving less than 10 miles, the check engine light came back on. Clearly the original problem had not been fixed. The next day I brought my car back, and they told me they would charge me a diagnostic fee this time because it was not charged the day before due to the other services they performed—even though the diagnostic was the reason I came in originally.

They were also unable to work with my extended warranty, and after the poor customer service I experienced, I decided not to continue working with them and took my car to another shop. At the new shop, I was told that my brake fluid was actually overfilled, which was causing another issue. This means I likely did not need the brake fluid service they recommended in the first place.

Overall, I wasted a lot of time and money, and my original issue was never resolved by their service department. I was very disappointed with the experience and felt taken advantage of.

My experience with West Hills autoplex is: 1. they keep the car longer than expected
2. They do not guarantee their work or honor their guarantees
3. They do not take responsibility for their mistakes

West Hills Chrysler fixed a recirculator door in May 2023. It broke again and the vehicle started making the same noise after several months. I brought it back in October 2024 to get it fixed inder warranty. When I picked it up, I asked if the two year warranty started over, and I was told that yes, it does. Within a few months or so, the noise started up again. I took it back in to get fixed December 2025. I put on the appointment when I scheduled online  that it was to fix recirculator door, which they had fixed before and is under warranty, and I asked for a phone call. I did not get a phone call and nobody told me that it was not under warranty.

I dropped the car off on a Saturday. I received the diagnostic on Wednesday with $1100 to fix the recirc door and related HVAC issue. I called West Hills to explain that it should be under warranty as it got fixed less than 2 years ago.  I heard back on Friday (Which was the next business day due to Christmas) that the warranty is only for 2 years from when they originally did the work and it did not restart as I had been told. Service consultant said it was not him who told me it restarted so he cannot do anything about it. No offer to discuss with a manager or offer another option.  It was also extremely frustrating that I specified I was bringing it for a repair under warranty and no one checked the warranty until they had had my vehicle for 6 days.
I declined the recommended service on Saturday morning as I am not going to pay to fix something that I was told would be under warranty for two years.  I was told Saturday afternoon that the van was still taken apart and would be ready for pick up in Monday morning.  I called at 10 am Monday morning and it was still not ready and I did not receive a call back for the rest of the day.  It was not done until Tuesday morning,  they had my van for 9 days.

In 2023 I got an oil change done at west hills Kia. Within a few days after the oil change we drove 800 miles to Montana. When we tried to leave again,  the Sorento would not start and there was no oil on the dip stick. It took me multiple attempts to reach a manager.  Once I did,  I explained that there was no oil on the dip stick and it had never gone through all of its oil in even the 3-5 thousands miles between oil changes,  so I believed they forgot to refill it when doing my oil change.  I was told "the box is checked that they put oil in it" and the manager explained there is a recall on the engine so once I hear a certain noise and check engine light comes on they will replace the engine and I can come in for top offs until then.  There was no acknowledgement that it's possible a box could have been checked without oil being refilled and not even an offer to refund my oil change.  They did fix it once the engine died,  but that was related to a recall and not the faulty oil change.

Be carful buying a car here. I purchased a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7
The car was spotless even the engine bay but that was to hide the leaky water pump. When I tried to use the full warranty I purchased I find out I actually have the one bellow a full warranty that only covers drive train and major engine components not a bumper to bumper like we discussed. Also it is a third party warranty they sell not the dodge company warranty. They will lie to you to sale a car. Purchase at your own risk

This car was to be a gift for me to get to school and medical appointments and we were told it was in great condition and would last through the next four years of College. Upon getting it home it was having issues and we discovered it had absolutely zero coolant even though we were assured it had been checked out and cleared for sale. The check engine light also came on shortly after purchase and we paid thousands more dollars to have the Chevy dealer in federal way work on it and still it doesn't run. Presently it sits in the driveway where it has been for the last year as we have no more money to dump into it. I wish I could say it was a great experience purchasing this car from Westhills but it's been a complete nightmare and so disheartening. UPDATE~ After being messaged here to contact Westhills to Resolve things we called and were transferred to Ash Morshedi who works at Haselwood@Westhills Autoplex. Ash is the individual who told me Haselwood would not repair or offer a return on the vehicle that I was told was in good running condition by both the salesman and the Carfax. You know that you yourself were the one that told me this Ash and this really isn't cool at all. We bought numerous vehicles from y'all in the past and my dad has sent plenty of business to West hills as he spent his whole career working for the D.O.D in Bangor and met many fellow naval officers who had been stationed here looking for vehicles throughout the years. Ash said to resolve it he could offer me 2,700 dollars for the car. We bought the car for close to $12,000 and spent at least a few thousand more trying to repair it ourselves after he himself "Ash Morshedi" told me that I could not return the vehicle and they would not be bringing it to working condition. The last time we spoke he said he would call me back and I never heard from him again. How could you treat people with such carelessness? We brought y'all business. I was so looking forward to having a car to get to my medical appointments and school. I'm in school for social work and I also volunteer working in reform programs for incarcerated youth in our communities which is not an easy job. Although rewarding it also can take a lot out of me and I really need a reliable vehicle to do this work.

Well, I called Josh multiple times and left messages. I was told my number would be left on his desk and I left voicemails but nothing was ever heard back.  Please be careful when purchasing a vehicle here, their word can not be trusted unfortunately. Good Luck to everyone looking for a vehicle, I hope you find something reliable🩷🙏🏼
