Pottery kick wheel project

This is a VERY sturdy pottery kick wheel project that needs a shaft extension welded on and a new wheel head. The bearings are smooth and the cement kick wheel/flywheel keeps a lot of momentum while throwing. I attempted to extended the shaft and add a flywheel without welding, and it worked for a while, but didn’t last. I think the shaft is cast iron and needs to be heated before it can be welded, but I’m not positive. It rusts, it’s magnetic, but I couldn’t easily weld to it with my small MIG welder. It’s also a bit big for my small home studio. So, I’m going someone else would enjoy competing the project. You’ll need a pickup truck and two people to take it away. It can be tipped up on its front on wheels to move it around. Comes with a Brent splash pan and a cover if you want them.
