Description
Probably needs a cleaning but the patina of age adds it's own beauty to this gorgeous piece. Vintage. Approximately a size 7 1/2. Wonderful condition for it's age. Top of ring has no chips or cracks. Band may have slight scratches (once clean it will be easier to tell if it's tarnish or actually scratches - nothing deep though if it is a scratch) from previous wear but it's all under the finger and not visible on the ring top itself. The central figure is meticulously inlaid with turquoise, coral, and other natural stones against a white mother-of-pearl background. This specific dancer motif is common in Southwestern jewelry but is particularly characteristic of Adeky's 1970s era work. The silver frame showcases classic Navajo techniques Twisted wire rope detailing around the central oval. Oxidized (darkened) silver to create depth and contrast. Hand-stamped foliate or feather-like silver appliqué flanking the sides. Collector's Context Gilbert Adeky (often spelled Adeky or Adakai in various databases) is a well-known Navajo artist recognized for his heavy silverwork and detailed inlay pieces.
