Description
RARE Old Stock Oregon Trent Agate Stibnite Sagenite Rough Specimen 82g Realgar Listing Description Item Specifications Material: Historic Trent Agate (Stibnite / Realgar / Orpiment Sagenite in Chalcedony) Weight: 82 Grams (~2.89 oz) Locality: Trent, Lane County, Oregon, USA (1960s Vintage Old-Stock) Type: Natural rough / faced collector piece Description Up for sale is an extremely rare, museum-quality piece of Pacific Northwest lapidary history: an 82-gram Old Stock Trent Agate specimen from Oregon. Mined briefly in the 1960s from a short-lived railroad cut before the site was sealed and built over, genuine Trent Agate is one of the most coveted Oregon materials in existence. This piece showcases dense, radial fan-like sprays of metallic stibnite needles and oxidized inclusions trapped in a classic olive-yellow to mustard-orange agate host. At 82 grams, a piece of this size and density is getting nearly impossible to find outside of private estate collections. It makes an incredible cabinet display piece as-is, or a high-yield rough for cutting rare collector cabochons. Note: Photos taken under direct lighting wet/dry to showcase needle structure and color depth. Dimensions shown on scale.
