Grant Green : Green Is Beautiful CD 1994 (Blue Note) RARE ** MINT ** Amazon Review: 5.0 out of 5 stars Give a listen A great funky recording by Green my favorites songs on this recording are "Ain't it funky" and "A day in life" while I love Green in a more 'mainstream' jazz mode and I have a lot of his recording as a leader and accomplice with all the 'Blue Note' greats , this recording is special and one of my favorite recording as a leader by Mr. Green...It was the first Green album that I purchased back in the early 70's. Give it a listen you won't be disappointed. Green was a great guitarist who was caught between Wes and Benson and just never got his proper rewards. Like a Freddie Hubbard caught between the come back of Miles and emergence of a Wynton Marsalis. 5.0 out of 5 stars Ain't this Funky My first funky Jazz album not to mention Grant Green's smooth Jazz rhythms. Get this album it's beyond extraordinary especially if you are just getting into Jazz. Emotional and not to complex melodies allow writing or just abstract thinking while listening to these moving pieces.
