Beautiful antique Victorian two-tier wicker/rattan table with an exceptionally detailed birdcage-style base. This is a distinctive late-19th-century American Victorian occasional/parlor table featuring: • Round wood top • Original lower wood shelf • Elaborate braided and rope-style wicker detailing • Four dramatically curved/splayed “birdcage” legs • Intricate woven center supports • Beautiful natural dark-brown aged finish and antique patina The design and construction are strongly consistent with documented Victorian wicker furniture attributed to Heywood-Wakefield, one of the important American manufacturers of Victorian wicker furniture.
