Antique Snow Sled 1900s Early 20th Century Primitive Wood w Wrought Iron Runners. Great for home and garden decor as a display piece. The twisted iron of the runners shows that the forger was knowledgeable and skilled, using the twist as a primitive shock absorber. The pitting of the metal and the wear of the unpainted wood speak a history that dates at least to the early 1900s, although it could well be older than this. This sled was made for work, although it is easy to imagine that Dad and the kids had some fun with it during the winter. There is a slight lean to the sled, which has been pictured. Measurements have also been pictured.
