JB Platinum Vacuum Pump

The image shows a JB Industries Platinum series vacuum pump. The two most prominent electrical hazards on this unit are the frayed power cord wire insulation and the exposed electrical plug connections. Specifically, the outer gray jacket of the heavy-duty power cable has pulled away or split open right where it enters the electrical plug, revealing the inner wires. On top of that, there is patterned tape wrapped around the base of the plug prongs, which can easily hide further degradation or damaged wire strands. If this pump is plugged into an active outlet, these exposed hot and neutral sections are an extreme risk for a severe electrical shock, a dead short circuit, or an electrical fire. The pump should be completely disconnected from power immediately and the power cord must be replaced or safely repaired before it is used
