Fender Japan MB-5 5 String Electric Bass Black

This is a made in Japan MB-5 Fender Five String Bass from the mid 90s. This is a great Bass for a gigging musician very light weight 7 Lbs, 5 Ozs, This Bass can be played all night without breaking your back and yet still has that big fat Fender Tone. It has two Fender Jazz Pickups. The Bass has some play wear, nothing overly significant, typical, the frets are good, it has Great low action, superb playability, Nice tight B String, not floppy at all, the Bass also stays in tune very well. It has scratches on the neck that spooked me when I first got it, but I took it to Mike & Mikes and GC and several technicians agreed it’s superficial. I’ve played it quite a bit and don’t feel it at all on the neck. The Bass was Made in the Fugijen Factory in Japan considered one of the best in Japan! Fuji String Instrument Production Corporation was opened in may 1960, they initially started manufacturing violins and quickly switched to classical guitar production. In 1962 electric guitar construction was started. Fujigen has a reputation for excellent quality and craftsmanship so the guitars they produce are highly regarded. They produce guitars via OEM for famous brands such as Ibanez, Epiphone, Yamaha and Fender (the import Special Interest Group nature model), G&L and others. Made in Japan, the MB-5 was only produced a few years around the Mid 90s (widely considered the best era for Japanese Fenders).The bass looks and sounds fantastic, is nice and light, plays really well, and is something you won't see every day.
