Description
This is a 75lb Ray Klontz/Clay Spencer tire hammer. It runs off a regular outlet, and is insanely easy to control. It stops like a dime mid swing even from full tilt! You can feel the ground vibrate 20+ feet away if you are on concrete! I built this tire hammer according to the actual blueprints, and instead of making the 50lb one I decided to make the 75lb one instead. Why not? The anvil weighs about 650 lbs and the hammer head itself weighs just under 70 lbs, but I think that they included the linkage in there to get to their 75 lbs as it’s stated in the drawings. It is painted with an alkyd enamel paint, and can be oiled and greased to last years! This machine is ready to go! All it needs is a base to sit on. The drawings recommend ideally a 4x4 concrete base that’s 2 foot deep. For a dirt or gravel floor, it also says that ten 4x4’s at least 3.5 feet long can be bolted together and dug into the ground as a base. You definitely want this bolted down as it will want to wobble and move if it isn’t. I am not able to deliver it, but can borrow a tractor to load it. Pickup is in Toledo WA. This opens up a lot of doors when it comes to blacksmithing and bladesmithing! With this tirehammer it is possible to do larger stock than what is feasible with just the smiths arms. Boy howdy it can flat out move some material! I can answer any serious questions!
