This today Nas has a web GUI management as well as shell access, compatible with Macintosh, windows, and Linux with cifs, samba, bonjour, and other common Network file sharing protocols. It's well documented on the internet, and is a stable solution for a home network. You can also install various apps such as Plex and it also has dnla media protocol sharing built in. You can also add drives to the USBs if you need additional storage or to copy something over. (This is an empty unit, there are no drives in the drive bays just to be clear.)
