Description

A mural of Opal Whitely in Cottage Grove shares the history of this famous Oregonian, one of the first Naturalists (before Thoreau, Emerson or Whitman). Opal was a gifted young girl who wrote these diaries at age 7. As an adult Opal volunteered her talents and especially loved to teach children to connect with and appreciate nature. This illustrated children’s book is an excerpt from her diaries. Book sleeve has a few imperfections. The book itself is in excellent condition.
