Description

This large, heavy-duty, circa 1950s toolbox was made by Simonsen Industries Inc. These were made for the U.S. Military under Government contract and identified as a “Mechanics TYPE II - CLASS A" Toolbox. Constructed out of heavy gauge steel and measures 18" X 10.5" X 13" and weighs roughly 20 lbs when empty. Manufacturer: Simonsen Industries, Inc. Type: Cantilever mechanics toolbox. Era: Produced during the Korean War/Cold War era for military and federal motor pools. Features - red painted metal finish (likely original was OD green color) and a hinged cantilever design for organizing tools. - Steel handle, center padlock hasp and originally had two flip latches however the latch on the right side is missing. - Four (4) swing-out cantilever trays. The top trays on each side have a lids and angled divider for socket storage. $80 OBO
