Price for the pair. Beautiful pair of antique German porcelain cabinet plates by C. Tielsch & Co. (C.T.), Altwasser, Silesia, Germany — circa 1895–1900. Each plate features a hand-tinted portrait transfer of French royalty: • Louis XIV, the Sun King • Duchesse de Bourgogne (Marie Adélaïde of Savoy), his grandson’s wife and a beloved figure at the Versailles court Portraits are set against a soft blush background, framed by a delicate lavender floral garland and gilt scrollwork border with a scalloped rim. Marked on the reverse with the green C.T. eagle mark ( Carl Tielsch, Altwasser) alongside the fleur-de-lis “Germany” mark, and titled in script with each figure’s name.
