  • I purchased a used 2018 Subaru WRX STI from Cerritos Mitsubishi on August 30th, 2025. In the contract I signed and paid for through a loan, I was given an extended warranty for 60 months or 60,000 miles with a $100 deductible. On September 2nd while driving the vehicle's engine had a knock and was not able to be safely driven. It was towed to an approved Subaru mechanic and has been there since September 23rd. When I contacted the warranty company so that I could start a claim, I was told that my contract was not funded. I contacted Cerritos Mitsubishi and was told that the person who had helped with the sale of my car, "Alan", had not properly filed paperwork and was no longer an employee. I was given the run around for around 4 weeks before I finally drove 2 hours and went in person to give my copy of the contract with the paid for warranty. They stated that everything would be fixed and I would be good to go within a week. During the last month every time I call the warranty company they would state the contract was not funded. I have been in contact with Tony in finance, Kelly in sales, and Ali(?) the general manager who have all stated that it would be taken care of within a week. The mechanic that has the vehicle began charging a storage fee of $40/day as of November 1st, 2025 and I am now responsible to pay $960 as of November 24th. When I contacted Kelly today (November 24th, 2025) I was told that the business office sent the funds on November 17th however when I called the warranty company, they are still stating the account is not funded. I just want to get this taken care of and get my car back. DO NOT WORK WITH THIS DEALERSHIP IF YOU WANT TO SAVE TIME AND MONEY. So much stress over something that should have never happened.
