Description
Good condition 1964 Martin D-18 in natural. This is a wonderfully good sounding early 60’s example of one of the most beloved Martin models, the D-18. This example looks to exhibit signs of originality, while a few small upgrades keep the guitar unique and playing wonderfully. Upgraded bridge pins. Added double pickguard that looks very cool in person. Original Grover tuners spin well and hold tune nicely. This example shows honest signs of play and wear as out would expect out of a well loved Martin of this age, but was clearly never abused. Frets have a good amount of life left. No neck reset needed. Neck is nice and straight and intonation is on. Bridge is in solid shape. There does not appear to be any significant cracking near the pickguard. No significant structural damage to speak on outside of a minor heel repair that is professional and looks old. No significant gauges or deep scratches up the neck. Fretboard feels good and consistent up the entire neck as well. I would describe the tone of this example as well rounded with a very pleasing high end when played with a pick. Medium light weight. This example maintains most of the original finish with little to no significant signs of overspray or refinishing. This is a wonderfully playing and sounding D-18 from a very desirable era that deserves a great home. Comes with a soft shell case that fits the guitar nicely as pictured. Willing to ship or drive a reasonable distance. Always open to offers!
