(New York).This striking heirloom piece features an organic Art Nouveau design mimicking heavily ruffled cabbage leaves or deeply pleated, draped fabric. It stands elegantly on three beautifully cast Victorian scroll feet.Collector Notes:Hallmark: Clearly stamped "Empire Mfg Co." and "Double Plate" on the bottom. The double-plate designation means a double-layer of fine silver was applied during manufacturing, ensuring incredible durability that has preserved this piece for over 100 years.Aesthetic: Features a gorgeous, authentic dark aged patina that highlights the depth of the fabric folds perfectly.
