Antique Leather Trunk

Beautiful antique leather-covered dome-top travel trunk with an unusually elaborate red interior, decorative lithographed scenes, and a removable fitted storage tray. The trunk retains wonderful aged character, including decorative metal hardware, leather trim, side handles, and a rich timeworn patina. It is believed to date from the late 19th or early 20th century, although no maker’s mark has been located. This is an authentic antique in unrestored condition. The exterior leather shows cracking, discoloration, worn areas consistent with its age. There are extra buckles and straps in the trunk. The decorative interior also has areas of wear but remains remarkably striking and largely intact. Please review all photographs carefully.
