Vintage Boy Scouts of America field canteen, estimated circa 1950s–1960s, measuring approximately 7.5” across. Round metal/aluminum canteen retains its khaki 100% cotton canvas carrier stamped with the Boy Scouts of America National Council emblem. Complete with shoulder strap, two-button cover, threaded cap and original cap-retaining chain. Matching period examples document this National Council/100% Cotton cover configuration. Authentic field-used condition with age staining, spotting and discoloration to canvas; oxidation/corrosion to metal buttons and hardware; wear and fraying to strap and edges; and handwritten identification on reverse. Strong piece of mid-century Scouting memorabilia and vintage American camping equipment, with appeal for BSA collectors, outdoor-history collections, cabin/lodge displays and rustic Americana decor.
