Description
Up for sale is an incredibly rare pair of early 20th-century cycling history pieces: two Official Programs from the International Six-Day Team Races held at Madison Square Garden, New York City. These grueling velodrome marathons were among the biggest sporting spectacles of the era. These programs were published by the legendary sports concessionaire Harry M. Stevens. Price listed is total for both. Included: • 1910 Program: Annual International Six Day Team Race (December 4–10, 1910). Features a gorgeous, highly ornate Art Nouveau cover border design. Under the direction of P.T. Powers. • 1914 Program: 22nd Annual International Six Day Team Race (November 16–21, 1914). Managed by prominent cycling promoter Floyd McFarland. Features a fantastic period advertisement for "Ajax Tires" on the bottom banner. Items are in good vintage condition and show wear appropriate for items from this era. Pease inspect the photos and use your own judgment when assessing this item. I researched similar items and did my best to give an accurate description with pricing based on comparables. Offers will be considered. This came from a friend’s collection I am helping sell. He was an avid cyclist who started racing at age of 13 and later went to Europe to race. He met many legends and published articles about his adventures. For local pick up, this item is in North Huntington Beach (area code 92649). I can also meet along the 405 Freeway between North Huntington Beach and LAX on weekday afternoons. HM4 VS1
