Description
Edelstein Bavaria Porcelain "Frauenlob" Pattern 2 Pour Gravy Boat & attached Plate 1920's In good vintage condition with no chips or cracks! Approx: 8 1/2" L x 6" W x 3 1/4" T weighing 1 1/2 Pounds I do have other lovely Gravy Boats listed if interested A bit of History: The history of this gravy boat comes from Edelstein Bavaria, a porcelain company operating from the 1930s to the 1970s.The "Frauenlob" pattern likely refers to the floral decoration on the white background, a classic theme from the company's earlier wares, & the design features a medieval-revival form popular in the late 1920s and early 1930s. The "2 Pour" indicates it has two spouts, & it is a vintage piece, with some examples dating to the 1940s Leipzig refers to a business location, as the Edelstein porcelain company opened a representative office there in 1924 to handle its business, taking advantage of the city's role as a center for exhibitions & trade This expansion helped the company reach a broader market.
